Our Story

Producing quality sheep that perform under commercial conditions is the main breeding objective for Leamington Corriedales. Our commercial operation which dates back to the 1930’s is ever evolving and has been around for long enough to know what works when it comes to breeding Corriedale sheep. Modern agriculture is demanding sheep that are versatile which can efficiently produce both fibre and meat. Corriedales fit this bill perfectly with the capacity to financially perform over both production sectors.

The stud side of the operation was established in 2011, but since its introduction has achieved marked production gains. We have now taken the stud to the next level and become a part of Lambplan. This decision was made for the benefit of our own flock and informed feedback given from existing clients. Lambplan allows us to identify superior animals and utilise specific traits to making the Corriedale the ultimate dual-purpose choice.

The past twelve months have seen another year of fantastic seasonal conditions here at Leamington. We have achieved lambing percentages of up to 161% unscanned and also produced export fat lambs that have dressed out at over 29kg. We have become accredited under the Responsible Wool Standards (RWS) program, meaning that every ram sold now carries this accreditation.

This year’s rams are true reflection of our breeding objectives and a fine example of the Corriedale breed. We are especially proud of the wool on this year’s rams with an average of 25.2 micron. There is currently a 370 cents gap greasy per kilo between 26- and 30-micron wool.

Leamington Corriedales has the great pleasure of offering 27 Rams to be sold via auction plus. If you require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
